“For lack of attention

a thousand forms of loveliness elude us everyday.”

Evelyn Underhill

This quote best explains why I take photographs. I hope my photographs bring attention to the grace and beauty that surrounds us. I took my first black and white photography class decades ago at Hull House Association located in Chicago’s LakeView neighborhood. I learned how to develop film in a canister and use an enlarger to make prints. I washed the prints and then waited for them to dry. The hours it took to create a print are now reduced to minutes with digital cameras. These days, I love to climb on my bike with my camera in my backpack and take photographs of Chicago’s lakefront and neighborhoods. My husband and I have lived in Edgewater or Rogers Park for over 20 years. I currently work as a primary grade school teacher.
